Sailing

Sailing is my extensive hobby nearly since my birth, starting with family trips through the North Sea (WSC) and continuing during my studies with many own trips including the Golf of Naples. Then, of curse, I was kept by my fascinating profession and my expanding family. Nevertheless, with 60 I bought a used Alu-Yawl (Huisman 45) in Detroit and sailed the yacht through the North Atlantic via New Fundland back to Europe, with a crew of 5 including my 17 years old son. This beautiful and fast yacht housed us for many trips round England, to Norway, Stockholm, Bay of Riga, Helsinki, and up to St. Petersburg. Later it became a bit too large for my wife and myself. In 2005 we changed to a Sweden Yacht 41 ft, again bought in the States (Newport RI) and again sailed back to Hamburg with a crew of 4. In 2009 my wife and myself earned the Commodore Ruedel Award (Kieler Yacht Club) for the most sportif family tour, round England in strong winds. We hope to continue these wonderful 2 months trips for some more years, accompanied by children, grand children, and friends.   Antares Atlantik 1990
